Therapeutic Massage
This form of massage is also known as Deep Tissue or Neuromuscular Therapy and can be extremely successful in relieving muscular restrictions, increasing range of motion and restoring soft tissue health.
Therapy Stones
Imagine a massage enhanced with heated, basalt stones to warm and penetrate deeper into the muscles, followed by cooled, marble stones to draw out heat and reduce inflammation. The combination of hot/cold stones, along with deep tissue massage, is a profoundly relaxing and therapeutic experience. This type of therapy is especially effective for acute injury as well as chronic pain such as back or neck pain, fibromyalgia, and overall immune system health.
In order to receive the most benefit from your treatment, I include stretching and exercises for continued care between sessions. Each session is designed for your individual needs.

About Stephanie Francisco
I am fortunate to have been practicing massage therapy since 1998 which is when I received my training from the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy. My experience includes three years of private practice in Traverse City, Michigan followed by six years in practice at the Center for Yoga in East Lansing, Michigan. Currently, I am practicing with a wonderfully talented group of bodyworkers and educators here at the newly formed Oasis Health & Wellness, a shared facility with the Center for Yoga.
I have always been active and enjoy a variety of sports which is why I think I ultimately found massage and bodywork to be such a fulfilling career. My personal background includes ten years as a professional water skier. During this time, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English at San Diego State University as well as a Teaching Credential for Secondary Education. My husband, who I met while water skiing, was accepted to medical school at MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997, which is what brought us to East Lansing.
When I was pregnant with my son in 2000, I realized the comfort and support of receiving bodywork during this time and decided to pursue specialized training in Pregnancy Massage. It gives me great pleasure to help not only first-time mothers, but women who return with each new baby over the years. As a mother of two young children, (my daughter was born in 2003), I bring personal experience and an awareness of the changes that occur during pregnancy, preparation for the childbirth experience and the challenge of resuming your lifestyle and activity level after baby. My massage practice is currently a balance between Pregnancy Massage and Therapeutic Massage, using Hot Stone Therapy to enhance both treatments.
I am a professional member of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) and have kept my skills current with continuing education in such areas as Pregnancy Massage, Myofascial Release and Hot Stone Therapy.
